Our instructor looks forward to sharing her knowledge with Ascend! Join us Fridays 5:30-6:30pm for weekly Pilates training.

Fall & Winter 2022 Classes Special $176
Enjoy a weekly, 2-hour Pilates class every Friday starting September 9th until the end of December at a reduced price. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student of Pilates, Ms. Linda will provide a dynamic set of classes to improve upon your flexibility and strength throughout the rest of the year!

Linda Hurkmans, M.A, is a former professional ballet dancer in the U.S. and in Europe, an encouraging and highly detailed teacher in Ballet, Pilates, and Progressing Ballet Technique, a Choreographer, and was the Artistic Director of the San Jose Dance Theater 2013-2021. There she built a school and professional ballet company from the ground up, incorporating Pilates training into the curriculum for all levels. Linda also founded the Pilates program for Santa Clara University for dancers, athletes and the general public.
Linda currently trains students online and in-person in group and private lessons. She is a Master Pilates trainer at the Club at Rancharrah in Reno and this past summer, was a Guest Teacher in Germany, at 3 schools in California, and was a Ballet Judge for the Korea International Ballet Competition in Seoul.

- Is this a beginner-friendly class?
Yes! Ms. Linda’s classes will be done 100% on our mats (no equipment or extra accessories required!) She will demonstrate and teach the basic movements, and allow for more advanced techniques if you want to challenge your form.
- Does Ms. Linda teach elsewhere?
Yes, she currently teaches at “The Village in Rancharrah” and does online seminars. Her instruction at Ascend allows for beginners and Pilates students seeking an instructor to tryout her practice and see if it’s the best fit for them.
- What is Ascend Martial Arts?
Ascend Martial Arts has been a leading Taekwondo and self-defense school in Reno, Nevada for over 21 years. We have the honor to have Ms. Linda and her family join our community not only to learn martial arts, but to extend her program to our gym. All of our students have found better flexibility and improved strength training.
